You should download and install programs only from trusted publishers and retail websites.
For this example we are going to download a program called WinRAR
Once you located the program you want to download, in your web browser, Select the link to the program.

Once selected program should start downloading, for Google Chrome users you should see the status at the bottom left corner of your screen.
For Edge users you should see status at the top right hand corner of the screen

Most antivirus programs like Windows Defender will scan the program for viruses during download.
The program file is saved in your Downloads folder, you can navigate to Start > Documents
Select Downloads
